The role of a Door Supervisor has to be adaptable as he/she can work from licensed entertainment venues such as discotheques, casinos, restaurants, and some outdoor events.

Their need for customer care is vital, providing a safe and secure environment whatever the venue. Door staff also need to be aware of the image they project of the venue and the client. It is paramount that they are professional, effective, efficient, and helpful at all times.

About this Qualification (Description, Objectives, Aims, Purpose)

The 'Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry', is a qualification for individuals who work or would like to work as a Door Supervisor. It is based on the SIA Specification for Learning and Qualifications for Door Supervisors 2014 and successful completion of the qualification enables learners to apply for an SIA licence in Door Supervision.

Objective:

Qualifications that an individual is required by law to have gained in order to undertake a specific role

Purpose: 

Confirm the ability to meet a 'licence to practice' or other legal requirements made by the relevant sector, professional or industry body.

Candidates must complete all four mandatory units in order to achieve this qualification.

  • Unit 1 - Working within the Private Security Industry 
  • Unit 2 - Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry
  • Unit 3 - Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry
  • Unit 4 - Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry
